Sandy B. Goodman, M.D.

Dr. Goodman is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as sub-specialty board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She serves as the Patient Education Director for The Reproductive Medicine Group.

Dr. Goodman specializes in treating patients with infertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis and age-related infertility. She also has a special interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. Dr. Goodman has extensive experience with infertility treatments, including ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, minimally invasive surgery, tubal reversal, in vitro fertilization (IVF) and egg donation cycles. She is the recipient of the Excellence Award for Operative Laparoscopy and Operative Hysteroscopy.

Dr. Goodman received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis where she was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where she achieved membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She received her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s/Massachusetts General Hospital’s Program where she was distinguished as the Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Goodman completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute. She joined The Reproductive Medicine Group in 2000.

She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, the American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, and the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Society. Dr. Goodman has consistently been named among the Best Doctors in America.

Betsy McCormick, M.D.

Dr. McCormick is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as subspecialty board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. McCormick specializes in treating all patients with infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. She also has a special interest in PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). She has experience in all aspects of ovulation induction, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and oocyte donation.

Dr. McCormick received her undergraduate degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. She then went on to earn a masters degree in physiology with an emphasis in endocrinology, and her medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio. She received her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati and was awarded the Robert Rebar Award for Excellence in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. McCormick completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility also at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. McCormick is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Samuel Tarantino, M.D.

Dr. Tarantino is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as subspecialty board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Tarantino serves as the medical director of The Reproductive Medicine Group IVF and Surgery Center.

Dr. Tarantino has a special interest in operative laparoscopy and tubal reversal surgery. He received the Award for Excellence in Operative Laparoscopy. Dr. Tarantino specializes in the treatment of infertility, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and menopause. He has extensive experience with infertility treatments including ovulation induction, in vitro fertilization and oocyte donation.

Dr. Tarantino received his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and his Obstetrics/Gynecology training from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital He completed his fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from Michael Reece Medical Center. He joined The Reproductive Medicine Group in 1997.

Dr. Tarantino is a member of the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the North American Menopause Society.

Dr. Tarantino has been consistently been named among the Best Doctors in America. He is fluent in Spanish.

Timothy R. Yeko, M.D.

Dr. Yeko is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. Yeko is the ART Program Medical Director at The Reproductive Medicine Group and has also been a principle investigator or co-investigator in more than thirty research trials.

Dr. Yeko has a special interest in advanced operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for the management of endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic pain and dysfunctional uterine bleeding. He has a special expertise in the treatment of infertility including intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization and oocyte donation.

Dr. Yeko received his undergraduate and medical school degrees from the University of Wisconsin where he earned membership to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology and his fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Illinois. Dr. Yeko served as the division director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of South Florida. He joined The Reproductive Medicine Group in 2000. Dr. Yeko has consistently been recognized as among the Best Doctors in America.

Howard Heidenberg, D.O.

Dr. Heidenberg is a graduate of USMA – West Point. He performed his residency training in Urology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC where he received subspecialty training in Male Infertility. Following his residency training, he remained on staff at Walter Reed as a general urologist and male infertility specialist until relocating to the Tampa Bay area in 2000. He is a partner physician with Tampa Urology, a division of Florida Urology Partners where he practices general urology and specializes in male infertility.Dr. Heidenberg has been recognized as one of “America’s Top Urologists”.

Kathy Fountain, LMHC

Kathy Fountain is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida (FL#7630) and National Board-Certified Counselor specializing in fertility and infertility issues. Her practice includes counseling individuals and couples who are experiencing the stresses that accompany fertility issues.

Kathy also works with doctors, lawyers and agencies specializing in reproductive technologies, and is experienced in evaluating and counseling those looking for fertility help who are considering IVF, third-party reproduction, egg donation, sperm donation, embryo donation, and surrogacy. Kathy is known in the Tampa Bay area as a long-time former news anchor and talk show host for WTVT Fox 13. She has published articles and is a highly respected speaker on the topic of stress and infertility.

She is a member of the Mental Health Professionals Group within the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. She is a certified professional instructor of the Mind Body Program for Infertility, having trained with Alice D. Domar, Ph.D., at the Mind Body Center for Woman’s Health in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Fountain is the founder of the Mind Body Program for Infertility in Tampa Bay.

Ms. Fountain also is one of the facilitators for the Tampa chapter of Resolve, the national infertility support group. For 20 years she was the honorary chair of the March of Dimes Walk America (now Walk for Babies) in Tampa Bay.

Sherry Longbottom, RN, CYT, Fertility Yoga Specialist

Sherry Longbottom is a Licensed Registered Nurse for over twenty years with numerous certifications. She practices as a Holistic and Integrative Health Practitioner blending specialized, restorative yoga with mindfulness meditation delivering an amazing mind, body, and soul experience that leaves you feeling calm, restored, and ready for the next step of your journey. Sherry has advanced training in mindfulness meditation from the world-renowned UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is certified in various forms of yoga (including prenatal & postnatal yoga) and has written many articles on the ways yoga and meditation can change your life and make you feel younger and slow the aging process.

What is Fertility Yoga? It is based on the principles of balancing hormones and increasing circulation (especially to the pelvic area and reproductive organs) while calming the mind, body, and spirit. Cindy Phillips, RNC, WHNP - RMG Third Party Coordinator

Cindy Phillips is the Special Services/Third Party Coordinator at The Reproductive Medicine Group, helping couples with donor egg and gestational carrier services. She began working with Dr. Barry Verkauf in 1976 when he left the University of South Florida to go into private practice. In January 1981 they opened what is now The Reproductive Medicine Group in Tampa. Cindy graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College with an Associates of Arts degree in 1972 and an Associates of Science in Nursing in 1974. She obtained certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing in 1982 and as a Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility Nurse in 1989.

Mary Wheatley, Executive Director - Heart of Adoptions, Inc

Mary Wheatley joined Heart of Adoptions, Inc. in June 2012 as the new Executive Director. As Executive Director, she is responsible for supervising all staff members and for overseeing each adoption case. Mary is held accountable for compliance with agency licenses, training and evaluating staff and monitoring the entire adoption process.

Mary graduated from Georgia College and State University with a Master’s Degree in Psychology and devoted many years to adolescents in residential facilities. As program manager with the crisis stabilization unit, she was able to improve levels of therapeutic care for all ages. As a proud adoptive parent of two beautiful girls, Mary was eager to join the field of private adoptions in 2005 and loves creating families through adoption.

Souad Dreyfus, Director - Open Arms Surrogacy & Egg Donation

Before Souad Dreyfus founded Open Arms Surrogacy & Egg Donation, she gained extensive experience working with a fertility specialist on behalf of intended parents, surrogates and egg donors. From the sterile atmosphere of doctor’s offices, she added the dimension of caring, nurturing, and emotional support.

Souad has celebrated the many triumphs and joys of creating families, which became the driving focus of Open Arms Surrogacy & Egg Donation. Souad’s warm individuality, professional integrity, and international flair ideally suit her role as founder and director of Open Arms. Her ability to blend compassion with professionalism in every unique situation stems from a strong family background and solid experience in the field.

Souad was born and raised in Morocco and arrived in the U.S. to attend university in 1998. With dual Moroccan/American citizenship, she speaks fluent English, French, and Arabic. After studying computer networking and business relations in college, she found her niche managing both the business aspects and the egg donation/surrogacy cycle for a local fertility specialist. During this time, she began to nurture the dream of expanding her role and helping bring families together through her own consulting business.

In June 2003, Souad founded Open Arms Consultants, Inc. later to be called Open Arms Surrogacy & Egg Donation,  with the mission of offering intended parents, egg donors, and surrogates the complex services they need in an environment of nurturing and warmth.
